Happy Friday friends!  Today is the day that I share with you my new favorite place to buy meaningful, affordable gifts.  Keep in mind, however, that the only gifts I have bought from this company are for my own self and yet I insist on calling this a gift buying site.  I’m sure some day, eventually, when I have checked all the items I really really  need off my list, I will indeed gift someone with something lovely from The Vintage Pearl.

I ran into a post about TVP on this little blog.  Please check her out – she needs the traffic.  The Vintage Pearl specializes in personalized, hand-stamped metal jewelry with which I have fallen deeply and irretrievably in love.  Amore.

Please feast your eyes:

Look!  V for Victoria!  Love the rustic initial combined with the freshwater pearl.  Perfect.

Oh dear.  This bracelet is everything a bracelet should be.  Plus 11.  I love it and I want it for this “friend” of mine. Her kids, ironically, have exactly the same names as my kids.

Hidden message ring. So fun!  So secret-agent-decoder-ring-goes-classy!  I need this one….for a secret agent friend.

Well, this is most definitely my new favorite baby gift.  And it is absolutely not for me personally.  Ever.  Again.

So, as I worked my way through the site, loving piece after piece, I dreamed of what I might want to own and what I would want it to say.  It was the day Steve retired and we were a little battered emotionally (this is how the justification process begins) and so I was thinking maybe…just a little bit…I might deserve something special.

Well, I could take you all the way through my war with my frugal side and my wants-its-own-way side, but I don’t want to torture you with my inner workings.  Bottom line is, I got this ring:

Sorry the shot is so lousy – my cell phone calls people really well.  It says Steve because that’s my boyfriend’s name.

And it says Genesis 50:20 which is home to an amazingly sustaining verse:   “What you intended for evil God turned for good for the saving of many lives…”  Next week, I’ll tell you why that has become the theme of this fight that we’re in and what we’re doing with the desire and prayer for healing.  For now, just focus on this:  I bought myself a present!  And I love it!  And it would make me feel better if you would buy something for yourself too.

Check ’em out here.

  6. I came to your blogsite from Steffany Woolsey’s facebook. I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your dedication and vulnerability when it comes to Truth (Jesus). Thanks for your encouraging words. You have offered me reassurance and the constant redirection to lift my eyes to Jesus; its an opportunity that is always there, but oh how I need people to show me Christ over and over…

    • Thank you, Kimberly – I totally agree. I need to be constantly reminded that He is good – in every situation. If my little blog does that for you, then I am a happy, happy girl. 🙂
