Oh, goodness, I am just so excited for SEPTEMBER 10 and the Walk to Defeat ALS.  If you are a member of Team Stern, we want you to know about some of the very funnest/coolest/hippest things available to you:

There’s this:

I’m telling you:  the men in my family are the most talented pancake-artists in all of the land!  We’ll be having a fun, free pancake feed at Oneighty (@Westside Church) starting at 8:30 the morning of the walk.  Please come for some ‘cakes, other fun surprises and you can also register for the walk there instead of having to stand in line when you get to River Bend Park.

Question:  Have you ever DANCED at breakfast?  You’re going to want to dance at this one, I’m telling you, because look who’s coming to provide the pancake-dancin’ music:

Exciting, yes?  Yes!

Question:  what will you WEAR to the Pancake Eatin’-Money-Raisin-Walk-to-Defeat-ALS?

Answer:  A Team Stern t-shirt!  Oh, how I love this shirt, because it emphasizes the Genesis 50:20 part of our mission right now:  the saving of many lives.  Here’s the logo:

We got a good deal on our shirts, but it’s still a significant expense because our team is very large – so any amount you can donate towards helping with the cost of these faith-stirring, awareness-raising duds would be much appreciated.  Donation jars will be set up at the breakfast or you can give in advance to myself, Chris Earwicker or Whitney & Corey Parnell.  Thank you very much, friends!

Finally, you know who will be at this great kickoff event?  This handsomey handsome guy:

I wish I could explain to you what your love, support and commitment means to Steve Stern.  It’s through tears that I write:  YOU are making a difference in his fight.  Your love is helping him stay strong, hopeful and happy.  I sometimes lay awake at night, imagining his face when he sees the sea of Team Stern t-shirts on September 10  – all walking together for the saving of many, many lives…and also because you love him.  Tears.

If you haven’t yet joined Team Stern, it is certainly not too late.  Go to this link and do what they tell you to do and you’ll be golden.  If you can’t walk and would like to donate, you can pick any walker on our team and make their day!  (I’m thinking of adding Gummy Baby Parnell to the walk list because I’d like to tell that Little someday that she/he was making a difference before his/her feet even hit the pavement!)

Keep checking back this week for TONS of easy and excellent ideas to raise money for the Walk and to recruit your friends and neighbors to be a part of this important cause!

With boatloads of hope for a life-changing day,

Bo for Team Stern
