Valerie Caraotta -Bo,
You don’t know me but have become a treasure in my heart. Your book Beautiful Battlefields I read and the revelation you shared along with great encouragement will forever remain in my heart. I so wish things were different for you but know that it is all filtered through His hands of love. If you get a chance to read my review I wrote on amazon for this book and you like it please can you also hit the yes button? I would love to hear you speak if you are ever in the Atlanta area. Please continue to be used mightily by God. Your book changed my perspective forever. Love you dearly for that sweet lady. May His grace continue to be sufficient in all you do.
Warm regards,
Valerie Caraotta

bo -Aw, Valerie, I LOVED your review. One of the most amazing things to me about books is that they can go so many places and people we cannot. I have an Atlanta date brewing…I’ll keep you posted!

Betsy -I heard you speak at Beaverton Foursquare last week, but sadly had to leave a bit early. Since that night, I have read each one of your blogs, like they were chapters in a fabulous book – I couldn’t wait to get to the end to “see what happens”. I have been sitting at my desk at work crying as I go through each page of your feelings. I want you to know that you have forever changed my attitude toward my life and my marriage. I will be watching your calendar to find the next time you are coming to speak in our area. Thank you for sharing your life with strangers! I will continue to pray for your family as you all navigate your way through your new country.

Pamela Lund -Bo, I am reading your book and have found it really refreshing and encouraging. I am currently in a battlefield. My giant is finances and where am I going to live after this month. God has told me to trust Him and I will. Your book gives me strength to trust and obey. Thank you.
I like your writing style. Did you take classes to write or did it just come natural to you? How long did it take to publish this great book?
I love to read about God and how He works in our lives. I wrote a book, but not sure if it will publish. Who knows, maybe God will tell me to go for it. So I just bought books on how to write. I have my own style, but not sure if it is a readable one. Anyway, I was just wondering how you got published and are you going to write another book?
Prayers and Hugs,
Pam

carole -I took care of my precious mother who had als. She developed it very late in life but long before any diagnosis. One doctor told her to see a shrink. It started in the bulbar for her so she lost the ability to speak and eat very quickly. I cared for her, loved her, made her laugh at things most people would cry about. She was joyful and fought hard. She is the bravest person I know and I am so proud to call her my Mother. She passed two days before my birthday in 2010 at the age of 82, think she did that intentionally. It was so hard at the end. We were always close but caring for her with joy and a full heart of love was my privilege. I miss her and pray for you and your caregivers. God Bless

Holly -Hi Bo! I just finished listening to your interview on Focus on the Family. I can relate to your daily struggles. My husband was diagnosed in 2011 with FSHD, a form of muscular dystrophy. He doesn’t face imminent death but he does face years of increasing muscle loss and daily excruciating pain. We are older (51 and 59)but have only been married four years so we don’t have that long reservoir of time together to draw upon. We have a small child at home (age 8) and my husband can no longer work full-time so, like in your situation, I am the main wage-earner as well as the main parent and the main chore-performer. Neither of us have any family living in our state of Montana so we rely on the help of our wonderful church family and my husband’s volunteer fire-fighting brothers to come to our aid when necessary. Chronic illness is HARD. Really hard! We work every day to strengthen our marriage instead of letting this tear us apart. We have mountains of statistics against us (second marriage, step-child, illness, etc) but we’re determined to be part of the small percentage that makes it for God’s glory. Thank you for your ministry to those in similar situations. Bless you in your remaining time with your husband! Now I’m ordering your book!!

Linda -Hi, Bo. I heard you on Focus on the Family both times it was broadcast today. My husband had ALS for 2 1/2 years so I could relate to all you said. God was very real and close to us, especially during that time. I also took comfort in Romans 8 and wrote a short poem that is on his ALS Walk team page. I will keep you in my prayers. Looking forward to reading your book and giving copies to my friends.

Trish -Hello Bo, I really loved your Beautiful Battlefields videos. I am moved at the hardships you and your family endure and that you acknowledge the different hardships we all may have. I have my troubles that occupy my mind more than what I would like. I try to let them go and give it to my Lord and there it is again. How how or when will the Lord help me. I cry and cry and feel so weak and then I’m ok again. I listen to radio stations all day long to fill me and give me words of faith and strength. I have an app that I read from to give me His word. I want to be close to Him but I still at times feel so far away like I’m not sure what to do and yet what does it matter

Marylou Dunsford -Hi Bo!
I just discovered you and your family! Thank you for sharing. Your experiences have helped me understand more fully what another family, whose husband & dad, is going thru with ALS from our church.
Each week one family takes over a meal to share. I am so glad to be a part of this ministry and that our church family is part of the team!

candy kaloger-today I went to ALS support group for caregivers. it was very small because the carnage has been great this year. one man who just lost his young wife and is left with 2 daughters painted a picture of where I am to go soon. I left my husband at home with a caregiver and I think he is loading up on carbon dioxide with all its horrible side effects. I went to group excited to share your book when holidays hurt about valentine day, and I did. but as the husband and I shared our hurt I came away sober, sad, cut short errands I was going to run and instead ran home to my husband. his wife is gone but my man is still here. my caregiver said my husband wanted me to know he is not having a good day. that is our valentine day
