• How does one welcome the new season while mourning the old one?  I don’t know how it works, but I know it’s what I feel about this fall business.
  • The thought of using the heater in my car is discouraging.  The thought of a fire in the fireplace, however, is…beautiful.
  • I am most certainly the oldest mom in Josiah’s 3rd grade class.  This – strangely enough – makes me more happy than sad.   Aging gracefully is a trick, but aging at all is a gift.
  • Speaking of Josiah, he didn’t need me to walk him into his classroom today.  How can it be so cool that he’s growing up and still so hard to watch?
  • My early  mornings are not nearly as quiet as they are in the summer…but they are filled with some pretty great sounds.
  • I was happy this morning to pay $3.77 for gas.  I was also wishing it was $2.77.
  • I love Pilot Butte Drive-in, but I think the new “French Onion Bagel Burger” sounds like a marriage of bad ideas.  Let me know if I’m wrong.

Trying to fall for Fall,

Bo

  1. Hey Bo,

I echo some of your thoughts…I recognize the same visual as Carl and I did kindergarten round up this past spring…although Caleb will just be beginning Pre-K…it definitely gave me pause to going back to coloring my hair! Ha! But today buying those beginning school supplies kind of thrilled me…so there is a sweet balance…

    Happy Fall!

  2. I had the EXACT same thought as I passed Pilot Butte Drive-in this morning.
