Okay, enough about orphans.  Let’s talk about ME!  Hee…I kid.  Except, not totally.  My wonderful blog buddy, Helen, tagged me here to do this list.  I have done it, Helen, and…here it is!
Where is your cell phone? Oh heavens, one never really knows and that is the beautiful mystery of my cell phone.
Where is your significant other? Building  a fire downstairs.  I love him.
Your hair color? dark brown but graying more and more.  That sounds pretty attractive, doesn’t it? You have no idea.
Your mother? is totally cool.
Your father? is equally fabulous.
Your favorite thing? It’s a tie:  dinner with friends and early-morning coffee with Whitney.
Your dream/goal? To know Him.
The room you’re in? Um…kind of a hybrid nook/dining/officey area.  Our home’s floorplan has an ironic sense of humor.
Your hobby? Shopping.  Blogging.  Talking for fun and sport.
Your fear? Living too safely.  And also under-cooking chicken.
Where do you want to be in 6 years? Here.  Loving my family, serving orphans and preaching the Kingdom.
Where were you last night? Home, wonderful home.
What you’re not? So many things.  Tall, tan, lactose intolerant, artistic, mathematically inclined, passive.
One of your wish list items? Boots.  No  matter how many pair I own, they’re always on the list.
The last thing you did? Made dinner for my family.  Pork chops, mashed potatoes and this sauce/gravy concoction that could quite possibly be the eighth deadly sin…it’s THAT good.  And that bad.
What are you wearing? Jeans & two shirts, one of which secretly says “Dirty Disco”.  Long story, cute shirt.
Your tv? Gigantic.  Seriously behemoth.  We have about a million channels and watch approximately 4:  ESPN, Food Network, TLC and the Golf Channel.  Wow.  That makes us look about 87 years old, doesn’t it?
Your pet? Abby, the wonder dog.  She’s a black border collie who tricked us into adopting her four Christmases ago.  I would throw myself in front of train for this dog.
Your computer? A Dell lap top.  I have the same feelings toward it that I have toward my dog.
Your mood? Butterflies-in-the-stomach-because-I-wonder-what-amazing-thing-God-will-do-next  FAITH.  Seriously, in spite of all the turmoil, I can’t wait to get up in the morning to find out what supernatural something will happen next.  Crazy times, friends…crazy good!
Missing someone? Umm…yeah.  Tori. 🙁  Every day. Times a million.
your car? is my second home and, thus, you can find fries under the seats.
Something you’re not wearing but love to wear? My Amani Life Global Sisters T-shirt..it’s yummy!
Favorite store? I wish I could say Nordstrom or Anthropologie…but I LOVE Costco!
Your summer? Filled with vision.
Love someone? Yep.  My family, friends and 143 millions others.  With all my heart.
Your favorite color? Red (but currently kind of an orange-y red)!
When is the last time you laughed? Talking to Tori and I just so badly wish I could say why. But she would never tell me secrets again.  And that’s not worth it.

Last time you cried? Today in devotions.  Joseph of Arimathea does it to me every time and some day I’m going to blog about why.

I don’t normally do lists like this, but it was good for me…it made me think about who I am and what’s important.  So, here’s my challenge:  pick five questions and answer them yourself – I’d love to see your answers!

Get well soon, Helen,

Bo

  1. Same great Aunt Bo. =) I love the orphans with you!!!

  2. Aw…I love you, Sarah! Thanks for stopping by.

  3. Okay, in compliance with your will, I’ve answered a few of your questions at random:

Where is your significant other? Good question. I’ll keep you posted.

Your hair color? I’m so glad you asked. It is NOT blonde. I repeat, people, NOT blonde. Don’t get me wrong. Blonde hair is great…but I don’t have it. My hair is sandy brown, which is more sandy in summer and more brown in winter. There is also a bit of natural strawberry blonde highlighting going on when the sun hits it just right. I’m only not offended when people call me blonde if I’m in Africa or Asia. You white people should totally know better.

Your favorite things? Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens. No. But seriously, musicals definitely make it to the top of the list. Also rain. Also insightful one-on-one dialogue with anyone. The challenges of teaching and living. Red wine with a good book. C.S. Lewis. Regina Spektor. My nephews & niece (currently, specifically hearing Donny say “JoJo” and “Auntie Jo” alternately).

The room you’re in? My current bedroom- which is filled with my sister’s books and walls spattered with 11 large pink polka dots.

Your hobby? See my favorite things and turn them into verbs, add photography and making whimsicality popular; that pretty much sums it up.

Where were you last night? Closing at Starbucks downtown Vancouver.

One of your wish list items? Red heels!! I almost bought a pair on my birthday last year, but was convinced to go for the black heels, which I love, but am forever haunted by the perfection of those red heels that I abandoned at the shoe store.

  4. Joann, I love your answers and I love any comment that begins with the words, “In compliance with your will…” Niiiice. I need more friends like you!

  5. again, you’ve inspired me…but I posted it on my own blog so I can get double credit:
