I’ve had a bit of a rough week and my writing skilz are a little sketch right now. I did, however, read a post by one of my favorite writers in the whole world and it made me stop and think about all the stuff that makes me happy in life. Check out Tori’s post here – and then make your own list of things worth celebrating today. Here’s mine:
- Hot Shower
- Hot coffee
- Christmas cups at Starbucks
- Water that comes straight out of the tap, just because we want it to
- Finding the perfect Christmas gift for one of my kids yesterday
- No plans for Sunday afternoon
- Sunshine in November
- The opportunity to go to church this morning without fear of opposition
Wow…for small stuff, that’s pretty big.

2. only a 15 min drive to church instead of my old 45-50 min trek
3. healthy, church that’s doing everything it can to let God shape, reform, and lead her.

5. they even let me sing, play guitar and grow in my gifts, at said church.

I was reading this and I could’ve swore you forgot one…

a godly husband who loves me.
a houseful of kids here at home (and big-kids growing up far away from home) who all love God.
a happy home, with yummy-smelling candles.
a place nearby to take walks in the woods.
a washing-machine and a dryer that works.
a wonderful friend (YOU!!!!) . . . who I’m so proud to know and to glean from.
1. A loving God who always has a better perspective than me!
2. Making it to the gas station this morning, which in turn made it possible to make it to work…big plus!!
3.The bliss of riding my horse last night, light or no light (no light in last night’s case)!
4. All 56 flower bulbs blooming next spring after slaving over them for 2 hours (Tumalo dirt…ya, more work than you think!)
5. My newly hung curtains.
6. My warm house, and the assurance that today’s ration of spiders are dead…for now!
7. Knowing without a doubt that God’s word keeps me on solid ground, especially when things get shaky!
1. Jesus for paying the price so we don’t have to
2. That God brings freedom to the captive and that there is nothing we can do but lead people to Him, He takes care of the rest.
