So my part of the trip started awesomely…straight from Redmond to Denver on what was one of the smoothest flights I’ve ever enjoyed.  That’s where the smooth ended.  Because of foul weather on the ground in Nebraska (i.e. flying trees and such), my flights were delayed and delayed and delayed and then diverted to Omaha.  I really thought I was going to have to spend the night in Denver without my family, my belongings or my fancypants R.V.  But after an hour sitting on the runway in a plane with a cabin temperature of roughly 157 degrees, I was delivered from Denver and into the heartland.  My poor husband picked me up at midnight and we got to Lincoln at 1:30 a.m….exhausted, but truly ready for vacation (my life’s mission is to make him extra grateful for the moments of relaxation.)

Sometimes I think airports and airlines fool us by making us think the weather is bad in a certain location when, in fact, the pilots are just shopping at IKEA or something…but my daughter gave me photographic evidence:

The dark side.

The bright side (but that’s not the sun lighting it up!)

Midwestern storms are truly awe-inspiring and are not to be trifled with.  They do real damage to real people and property.

HOWEVER, don’t worry…in the end, this little guy was just fine:

And so were these guys…

Life?  She is good.
